Abstract
Compsn. contains (i) dimethyldichlorovinyl phosphate (I); (ii) a cpd. of formula (II): (Z = O or S; R = CH3 or C2H5; R1 = 1-4C Cl; R2 = 1 or 2 opt. CH3) (II) being 1-5% on (I); (iii) opt. >=1 hydrophobic agents, coevaporants, plasticisers, stabilisers and dyes; (iv) a solid absorbant support which is either a compact porous or fibrous material or an org. macromolecular solid; (v) opt. a film, over the support, of high m.wt. substance, insol. in the compsn. and of thickness 5-500 mu, and (vi) opt. a container for the above of hollow profile, made of supple plastic material insol. in the compsn. and having no, or very small, solvent activity for the compsn., closed at both ends and having holes along its length (12-60 cms.). Insecticides esp. for use in dog collars etc. (II) improves the activity of (I) against ticks and prolongs its action.
