Abstract

The fitting comprises a ring of deformable material and a circle of rigid, detachable parts connected to the ring. Each detachable part has a rib whose opposing sides are in planes of less material deformation when the ring is subjected to radial constriction. Specifically each detachable part has a lug overhanging the rib at each end of the ring. More specifically a plane bisecting each rib is at an acute angle to the entire radius of the ring.
