Abstract

Preparation of pigment compositions by admixing an aqueous mass of a pigment and an emulsion/soln. of a carrier for the pigment to form an unagglomerated mixture and spray drying. The aqueous pigment mass comprises an aqueous press cake, slurry or a dispersion of a highly dispersed pigment paste. The particle size of pigment is below 1 u. The carrier is a polymeric material such as vinyl chloride polymer, polyethylene resin or ethylene oxide condensate. The drying is at 45-65 deg.C. Better dispersion of pigment to obtain an intimate mixture of pigment and polymer. Colouring of plastics materials.
