Abstract
Thebaine derivs. of the general formula (I), quaternary ammonium salts, acid addition salts and N-oxide derivs. thereof:- (I) R1 = lower alkyl R2 = H, lower alkyl, or (1-8C) acyl R = where R3, R4 and R5 are H, Hal, Me. or R = cyclopropylmethyl; cyclobutylmethyl; cyclopentylmethyl; or cyclohexylmethyl, all opt. substd. by one or more Me radicals; or propargyl. The dotted line indicates a single or double bond. Central nervous depressant and analgesic activity. Morphine antagonist.
