Abstract

Method for improving the controllability of a stockpile dischargeable via the bottom, such as a receiving hopper, silo or the like, which stockpile contains flowing material 1 and the bottom 2 of which stockpile is enclosed on at least one side by a tunnel-like space 3, which is provided with a discharge opening 4, extending in the transverse direction of the tunnel-like space and opening towards the storage space, through which opening a discharge arrangement 5, for example a screw-conveyor, a chain-conveyor or the like has been designed to extend, in order to discharge the material 1 in the stockpile by means of the conveyor 6 in the tunnel-like space 3, the said discharge arrangement 5 being designed to be displaced in the longitudinal direction of the tunnel- like space 3. The surface of the material 1 in the stockpile is kept above a predetermined minimum level, the minimum level being defined so that the discharge opening 4 is essentially covered by the material 1. <IMAGE>
