Abstract

The invention relates to an installation for bending and hardening a plate of glass. The plate of glass is supported on the same edge mould 3 during all the various stages of treatment thereof. Pre-heating sections 5 and 6 are on two different height levels in such a way that one pre-heating section 5 is below the bending section 8 and another pre-heating section 6 is alongside the bending section 8. After pre-heating of the plate of glass it is heated from a temperature of about 500 degree C to the final bending and hardening temperature with high efficiency and speed. <IMAGE>
