Abstract

A process for reinforcing a body 1, such as an elongated and essentially cylindrical container or a pipe, with a continuous reinforcement tape 2 which can be wound helically around the body and which is fastened to the body using hardenable bonding agent, such as resin, and a corresponding body. The reinforcement tape 2 is wound around the body 1 with the same pitch and in the same direction and each tape winding is overlapped onto the previous tape winding by half of the width of the tape such that two layers of tape are formed at each point on the clad body. <IMAGE>
