Abstract

The invention concerns an arrangement for eliminating problems caused by lack of rigidity in the frame of a kantele fitted with a tone-change mechanism. A general lowering or raising of the pitch is effected by movements of pins 3 in eccentrics 2. This movement is brought about by the use of wedges 13 connected to rotary arms 1a, which wedge themselves into the space between a pair of freely moving rollers 11 of a moving roller rail 9, a supporting roll 10 fixed on the kantele and a gable roller fixed on the roller rail. The movement of the roller rail 9 is produced by links 7 connecting it to a controller 5, a pin rail 4 and to the pins 3. The movement distance of the pins 3 is controlled by altering the movement relationship between the connecting links' 7 journals 15 and the controller's 5 journals 6, also between the rail pins 8 and the connecting link's 7 journal 15. <IMAGE>
