Abstract

Turbulence generator 20 in the headbox of a paper machine, with which internal microturbulence in the pulp suspension stream F is created. The turbulence generator 20 includes a turbulence tube system with several parallel turbulence tubes 22 positioned on each other, in which the cross section of the turbulence tubes 20 in the beginning at the input side of the turbulence generator 20 is round and changes seamlessly in the direction of flow to a cell structure with flat sides, in which the flow transverse surfaces of each cell are essentially equally large and of the same shape. The cell structure is essentially complete at output plane 23 of the turbulence generator 20. At output plane 23 of the turbulence generator 20, the cell structure of the turbulence tube system is formed by cell triangles with even sides, in which the sides next to each other and on each other come to directly face each other. The bases of said cell triangle are horizontal so that the upper wall 24a of the cell system and the lower wall 24b together with the intermediate walls 24 for the cell rows R1 ...
