Abstract

The invention concerns a cable, which within a protective sheathing 10 has at least one optical fibre 5 and at least one twinned pair of metallic conductors 2, 7. In order to reduce the dimensions of the cable and improve its characteristics, according to the invention the abovementioned at least one pair of metallic conductors in the cable is encased in a cable core 1 of plastic material, on the surface of which in the space between the metal conductors there is at least one groove 3 in which at least one optical fibre 5 is placed. The invention also concerns a method for manufacturing a cable core for use in a cable according to the invention. <IMAGE>
