Abstract

The invention relates to a façade element with a natural stone surface and a metal frame, which element comprises panels of natural stone 11 and an elongate corrosion resistant frame 10, to which the panels 11 can be fastened and which consists of horizontal supports 13, 14 and vertical supports 12, the frame 10 functioning as a supporting construction when the elements are fixed in place. According to the invention, the frame 10 at least partly surrounds the edges of the panels, and there is fastened to the frame 10, behind the panels and at least in proximity to these, a light profile construction 16 which extends at least virtually over the entire panel surface and the longitudinal direction of which is essentially parallel to the longitudinal direction of the element in order to support the element during transport and mounting. <IMAGE>
