Abstract

1. Cloth, particularly fabric or felt for draining and drying paper webs in paper-manufacturing machines, comprising at least two lengthwise areas (A, B; C, D, E), characterized in that at least one of said lengthwise areas (A; D) is provided with a first type of binding or weave between the warp threads (7) and the weft threads (10) whereby the part of warp threads (7) passing above the weft threads (10) and facing the paper web forms a first contact surface with said paper web, and at least another lengthwise cloth area (B; C, E) is provided with a type of weave between the warp threads (7) and the weft threads (10) which differs from the first type of weave and whereby the part of warp threads (7) passing above the weft threads (10) and facing the web paper forms a contact surface therewith which differs from said first contact surface.
