Abstract

The present invention relates to a self-sustaining door supervision and electronic lock control system and a method for operating. The system comprises a central unit (100) and a user interface unit coupled to the central unit (100) with wiring. The user interface unit comprises a numerical keypad (110) with an enter key (300) and a short-range identification reader (120). The user interface unit is disposed outside a door closing a space, wherein the door is locked with an electronic lock (150). The central unit (100) comprises at least one processing device, at least one memory (210) and a telephony device (220) having a predefined phone number. The central unit (100) is preferably disposed within the space closed with the door locked with the electronic lock (150). The electronic lock (150) can be unlocked by using any one of the numerical keypad (110), the short-range identification reader (120) or by calling to the predefined phone number by an authorized phone. The system has particular enhancements that enable public authorities to unlock the electronic lock (150).
