Abstract

A cupboard bed (100) comprising a bed (120) having a free end and a restricted end. The bed (120) is arranged to open from a storage position to a use position and to be closed from the use position to the storage position. The bed (120) in the use position is substantially horizontal at its height of use and in the storage position the bed (120) is substantially vertical. Two cabinet side walls (130) are provided on both sides of the bed (120). The cabinet bed (100) includes means for moving the confined end of the bed in the vertical direction between the side walls (130) as the bed (120) is opened from the storage position to the use position or closed from the use position to the storage position. The cupboard bed (100) further comprises a hinge mechanism arranged to hold the free end of the bed (120) in the use position.

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention relates to cupboard beds. In particular, but not exclusively, the invention relates to bunk beds.

BACKGROUND

This section describes background information useful to the reader without intending to acknowledge the state of the art described herein.

A wardrobe bed is a bed solution where the bed is kept upright inside the cupboard and the bed is opened horizontally before use. Closet beds are often used to save space or increase the versatility of a given space. Closet beds are commonly available in single and double decks.

The closure bed opening and closing mechanism typically operates with one end of the bed hinged to the cupboard, and when the bed is opened vertically, it hinges through its hinges. Gas springs are typically used to facilitate opening and closing to lighten the bed.

One interesting application of bunk beds is the kindergartens.

SUMMARY

It is an object of the invention to provide a cupboard bed with an improved opening and closing mechanism. Another object of the invention is to provide an alternative to the prior art. Another object of the invention is to improve the functionality of the nursery facilities for their intended use.

The invention is characterized by what is set forth in the characterizing part of the appended claim 1.

According to a first aspect of the invention there is provided a cupboard bed comprising a bed having a free end and a restricted end, which bed is arranged to open from storage to use and to close from storage 5 to storage having a substantially horizontal elevation and and two cabinet side walls arranged on either side of the bed, characterized in that the cabinet bed comprises means for moving the restricted end of the bed vertically between the side walls when the bed is opened or closed from the storage space to the main storage space;

The restricted end of the bed may be arranged to move from bottom to top and from top to bottom. Alternatively, the restricted end of the bed may be arranged to move when opening from top to bottom and closing from bottom to top.

The cupboard bed may comprise a stop arranged to limit the free rotation of the bed in gravity towards the horizontal operating position. The retainer 20 may comprise a groove restricting the free rotation of the bed in a fixed portion of the bed. The handle may comprise a pin on the side of the bed.

The articulation mechanism may comprise two support arms, each having at least

The arms of the support pair can be aligned on either side of the bed in the longitudinal direction of the bed. The pivot mechanism may comprise four support members having at least one pivot point. The four support members can form 5 first and second support pairs.

The support legs may be attached to the bed so that the pivot point forms a joint. The support legs may be hingedly attached to the bed. Preferably, the support arms have two pivot points. In some embodiments, the first pivot point is at the first end of the support member 10 and the second pivot point at the other end of the support member.

The support pair may be arranged at the free end of the bed. The first pair of supports may be arranged at the free end of the bed and the second pair of supports may be arranged at a distance from the free end of the bed. The attachment points of the second set of supports may be on either side of the upper and lower beds so that the first ends of the support members are at the middle of the upper bed and the other ends are at the restricted end of the lower bed.

The wardrobe bed may be arranged to effect the turning of the bed from the storage space into the occupancy space while the limited end of the bed and the free end move in opposite directions of motion to reduce the maximum force caused by opening the wardrobe without various relief means such as gas. If the limited 5 end of the bed moves upward when the cabinet bed is folded up, the free end of the bed can move down at the same time. Similarly, if the restricted end of the bed moves downward when the cabinet bed is folded down, the free end of the bed may at the same time move up.

The cupboard bed may be arranged to effect the turning of the bed from the storage space 10 into a working space while the limited end of the bed and the free end move in opposite directions of motion to reduce maximum force caused by opening the cupboard bed.

The lower bed may be arranged for attachment to the side walls of the cabinet so that the attachment point for the lower bed 15 has a fixed height. The lower bed may be arranged to open from the storage space to the use space and close from the storage space to the storage space around the pivot point. The pivot point may have a fixed height. The downstairs bed can be supported on the floor by the free end of the upper bed.

The closet bed may comprise a ladder, or other step arrangement. Preferably, a ladder, or step arrangement, is provided at the free end of the bed, preferably the upper bed.

Ladders can be rope ladders. The rope ladder guides, i.e. the side ropes, may be arranged to hang from the free end of the bed. Preferably, the rails of the rope ladders are secured to a row provided at the free end of the bed. In a cupboard bed comprising an upper and a lower bed, the rope ladder guides may be arranged at the free end of the upper bed as described above. The lower ends of the rope ladder rails may be secured to a free end of the lower bed, preferably to a row provided on the free end of the lower bed.

The upper and lower beds may be in the operating position in parallel and overlapping planes at a vertical distance from each other. The upper and lower beds can be arranged

20185737 prh 04-09-2018 so that in use, the free end of the lower bed extends further from the side walls of the cabinet than the free end of the upper bed. The upper and lower beds can be the same length.

The cupboard bed may comprise two pivoting edges arranged at the top of the bed, preferably one on each side of the bed. The edges may be in the upright position during operation. The edges can be arranged foldable on the top bed. The edges can be folded over the bed in the storage space.

The closet bed may comprise a door. The cupboard bed may comprise a back wall of the cupboard or 10 backplates. The cupboard bed may comprise a base or base plate of a cupboard and a top plate of a cupboard.

The wardrobe bed can be easily and quickly opened and closed with the restricted end and free end of the bed moving in opposite directions when opening the wardrobe from portrait to landscape and from horizontal to vertical. As the ends of the bed 15 move in opposite directions in the cupboard bed, a gas spring may not be needed to facilitate opening and closing. As the restricted end of the bed moves to a storage space when the cabinet bed is turned into storage space, the cabinet bed can be stored in a lower space than the cabinet bed, which opens to its working height off the floor level around a fixed pivot point. It is advantageous to fit in a lower space, for example in renovation projects.

By moving the ends of the bed in opposite directions, turning the wardrobe from storage to use and from storage to storage gives you a little bulky, easy to open and close closet. Advantageously, a closet bed can take up space only in front of the interior space required by the length of the bed. In operating mode, the lower 25 and the upper beds can still be brought within a normal operating distance from each other.

The closet bed may comprise an acoustic element. The closet bed door may comprise an acoustic element. A wardrobe bed may comprise several acoustic elements. The door may comprise a plurality of acoustic elements.

Easy to open and close closet beds can be placed facing each other off the wall, for example in the middle of the floor. DETAILED EXPLANATION

In the following description, like reference numerals refer to like parts or steps. It should be noted that the figures shown are not to scale in their entirety, and that they serve primarily the purpose of illustrating embodiments of the invention.

In this description, the term "significantly horizontal" is used to describe an object,

In the embodiment of Figure 1a and Figure Ib, the means for moving the restricted end of the upper bed 120 comprises two vertical pieces 180, each block 180 having a vertical groove 140, and two

The acoustic elements 310 are preferably disposed on the exterior surface of the cupboard bed door so as to reduce echo and thereby noise from the nursery space.

The closet bed of Figure 3 can also easily be placed in the middle of the room, e.g. Thus, wardrobe beds can be used to create various acoustic spaces for a destination and improve the use of the nursery space, flexible interior design and construction of the acoustic space. Claims (15)
