Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of generating steam at a digester plant of a chemical pulp mill. In the method, a) black liquor is discharged from the digester at a first temperature and first pressure; b) black liquor is treated in at least one flash tank for generating flashed black liquor and flash steam, which is at a second temperature and a second pressure that are lower than said first temperature and pressure, c) the flashed black liquor is led from the flash tank to further treatment, d) the flash steam from step b) is led into an indirect heat exchange contact in a reboiler with clean liquid for boiling the liquid and producing steam having a third temperature and third pressure, which are lower than the second temperature and second pressure, whereby the flash steam is condensed, e) the steam flow generated in the reboiler is led from step d) to further use, and f) in step d) foul condensate and clean condensate are generated, and at least a portion of the clean condensate is led into the clean liquid flow to be used in the reboiler in step d).
