Abstract

(57) Abstract The invention relates to a firebox (1) of the type that is intended to be built-in into a wood burning appliance (11), comprising an ash box (2), walls (3,4) attached to the ash box (2) to form a combustion chamber (13) at a level above the ash box (2), a grate (6) for separating the combustion chamber (13) from the ash box (2), primary air supplying means, and secondary air supplying means. The secondary air supplying means comprise at least one air supply insert (5) arranged in the combustion chamber (13), said air supply insert (5) having a passage for receiving secondary air from the ash box (2) and feeding secondary air through at least one combustion air nozzle (10) arranged in the air supply insert (5) to the combustion chamber (13). The invention also relates to a method for arranging secondary air supply in a combustion chamber (13) of a firebox (1). (Fig. 2)
