Abstract
Esillä oleva keksintö koskee menetelmää ja kattilaa polttoaineiden ja ilman poltossa syntyvien typpioksidien määrän vähentämiseksi polttokattilan savukaasuista. Kattilalla on vedenkiertojärjestelmä, johon kuuluu tulistimia (8), ja tulipesä (16, 17, 18) polttoaineen polttamiseksi ja typpioksideja sisältävien savukaasujen muodostamiseksi, jotka savukaasut virtaavat pääosin ylöspäin tulipesässä ja edelleen tulistinalueelle ja kattilan muiden lämmöntalteenottopintojen (9, 10) kautta ulos kattilasta ja joihin savukaasuihin tuodaan typpioksideja pelkistävää ainetta. Olennaista on että typpioksideja pelkistävä aine tuodaan savukaasuihin ennen tulistinaluetta (8), mitä ennen savukaasujen lämpötilaa alennetaan ainakin yhden lämmönsiirtimen (15) avulla, joka sijaitsee savukaasuvirrassa ennen pelkistävän aineen tuontia (20), sopivan lämpötilaikkunan aikaansaamiseksi savukaasuvirrassa typpioksidien pelkistämiseksi.
