Abstract

The invention relates to a device for exploiting the energy of a storm centre. The device includes a hull structure (10) arranged to float in water, means (11) for converting the energy of a storm centre into electrical energy and in turn into a third form of energy, as well as stores for the third form of energy. The cross-section of the hull structure (10) is essentially circular and aerofoils (12) are arranged on the outer surface of the hull structure (10) to permit the hull structure (10) to be rotated around an essentially horizontal axis of rotation by the wind of the storm centre and thus to operate the means (11). In addition, the device is arranged to float freely and it includes control devices (22) and rotation devices (24) for the independent movement and control of the device. The invention also relates to an apparatus and method.
