Abstract

Vaihde on portaaton, mekaaninen, varioiva ja itsesäätöinen automaattinen tai manuaalinen hammaspyörävaihde(CVT), joka on sijoitettu esimerkiksi pyörän napaan. Suunnanvaihto voi olla esimerkiksi entisen tasauspyörästön paikalla. Tällä napavaihteella ja moottorin kierrosluvulla (tai suuremmalla) toteutetulla voimansiirrolla konstruoitu vaihde tarkoittaa, että komponenttien koko, moottorista vetävään pyörään, on aiempiin ratkaisuihin verrattuna hyvin pieni. Kytkintä, vaihteistoa, tasauspyörästöä ja jarruja ei tarvita.
