Abstract

Keksintö koskee sähköisesti uudelleen konfiguroitavia optisia laitteita, jotka perustuvat dielektrisen ja läpinäkyvän viskoelastisen materiaalin (G) kerroksen käyttöön ainakin yhtä elektrodirakennetta (ES1) vastapäätä. Keksinnön mukaisesti yksittäisten elektrodivyöhykkeiden järjestely ensimmäisessä elektrodirakenteessa (ES1) viskoelastisen kerroksen (G) muodonmuutoksen aikaansaamiseksi on yhden seuraavan vaihtoehdon mukainen: Ensimmäisen vaihtoehdon mukaan ensimmäisen elektrodirakenteen (ES1) elektrodivyöhykkeet on ryhmitelty kahden tai useamman vierekkäisen elektrodivyöhykkeen ryhmiin, ja kunkin mainitun ryhmän sisällä yksittäisiin elektrodivyöhykkeisiin johdetaan kuhunkin oleellisesti eri jännite. Toisen vaihtoehdon mukaan ensimmäisen elektrodirakenteen (ES1) elektrodivyöhykkeet ovat oleellisesti renkaan, ellipsin, suorakaiteen tai monikulmion muotoisia suljettuja silmukkaelektrodeja. Keksinnön ansiosta voidaan muodostaa esimerkiksi sähköisesti uudelleen konfiguroitavia loistehiloja (engl. blazed grating) (30) tai Fresnel-vyöhykelinssejä (40). Keksintö koskee myös menetelmää mainittujen sähköisesti uudelleen konfiguroitavien optisten laitteiden muodostamiseksi&sr;Fig. 3a
