Abstract

Keksintö koskee päällyste-elementtiä, päällystettyä kuiturataa sekä menetelmiä näiden valmistamiseksi. Päällyste-elementti käsittää pigmenttipartikkeleista ja sideaineesta sekä mahdollisesti lisäaineista muodostetun pigmentti-sideaine-rakennegranuulin, jossa pigmenttipartikkelit ovat sitoutuneet toisiinsa sideaineen välityksellä. Keksinnön mukaan granuuli on muodoltaan olennaisesti pyörähdyssymmetrinen ja siinä on sisäosa ja kuoriosa, jolloin sisäosan tiheys on kuoriosaa pienempi. Granuulit voidaan valmistaa pigmenttiä, sideainetta ja mahdollisia lisäaineita sisältävästä ves-lietteestä spray-kuivatuksella. Päällyste-elementtien muotoa voidaan muuttaa hallitun deformaation avulla. Ne voidaan litistää esim. kalanteroinnilla halutun muotoiseksi pinnaksi ja kiinnittää kuituradan pintaan ilman erillistä sideainetta tai vain pienen sideainelisäyksen avulla.The invention relates to a coating element, a coated fiber web and methods for their manufacture. The coating element comprises a pigment-binder-structure granule formed from pigment particles and a binder and possibly additives, in which the pigment particles are bound to each other via a binder. According to the invention, the granule is essentially rotationally symmetrical in shape and has an inner part and a shell part, whereby the density of the inner part is lower than the shell part. The granules can be manufactured from a water slurry containing pigment, binder and possibly additives by spray drying. The shape of the coating elements can be changed by means of controlled deformation. They can be flattened, e.g. by calendering, into a surface of the desired shape and attached to the surface of the fiber web without a separate binder or with only a small addition of binder.
