Abstract
A handling machine is claimed for the changing of casting nozzles on iron and steel making ladles. A reserve nozzle is introduced into the well of the casting mould and rotated into the vertical position with its moving plate in guide rails. When in the vertical position the reserve nozzle is substituted for the worm nozzle by sliding it into place by means of jacks mounted on the casting vessel in a manner to align the nozzle with the casting orifice. The rails, under the action of levers subject to springs, support the moving plate of the casting nozzle against a reference plate.
