Abstract
The electrical protective device, especially for high-voltage and/or high-current units, contains a fusible conductor, which is wound on a former, and at least partially surrounds a device for indicating operation of the protective device, which has a moving bolt that is provided for tensioning a spring element with a predetermined tensioning force via a tensioning wire, connected to the bolt, which breaks under the tensioning force on operation of the protective device. This protective device is also intended to detect an overload below the disconnection current which leads to melting of the fusible conductor. To this end, it is provided according to the invention that the tensioning wire (12) consists at least partially of an amorphous material which crystallises at a predetermined temperature on the basis of a corresponding heating power of the fusible conductor (4) when it is overloaded, and therefore breaks under the tensioning force (K) of the spring element (10).
