Abstract

The cpds. of formula (I) are made by (a) iodation of amino isophthalic acid (b) reacting the prod. with thionyl chloride (c) reacting the cpd. formed with 3-amino 1,2-propane diol in alkaline medium to obtain the isophthalamide of formula (II) (d) di-acetylating this and then hydrolysing to obtain a cpd. of formula (III) and (e) reacting this with 2-chloro ethanol to give (I).
