Abstract

COMO CATALIZADOR ACIDO SE UTILIZA UN ACIDO ARIL-SULFONICO ANHIDRO QUE TIENE UN PKA INFERIOR A DOS.PROCEDURE TO PREPARE A PHENOLIC FOAM THAT HAS A UNIFORM CLOSED CELL STRUCTURE, WITH CELLS SUBSTANTIALLY FREE OF BOTH BREAKING AND PERFORATION. IT CONSISTS OF REACTING AN AQUEOUS RESOL OF PHENOL-UNIFORM AGENT, IN TENSIUM-FORMALDEHIDE ACID CATALYST, TO OBTAIN A FOAMABLE COMPOSITION OF PHENOLIC RESOL, AND THEN SAID COMPOSITION IS FOAMED AND CURED IN A SUBSTANTIALLY CLOSED MOLD. AS ACID CATALYST AN ANHYDROUS ARYL-SULPHONIC ACID IS USED WHICH HAS A PKA LESS THAN TWO.
