Abstract

The present invention relates to a feed apparatus for metal wires in machines for the production of chains, especially of jewellery chains, by means of which it is possible to produce a chain having links made of different metals and/or with different colours. The apparatus contains a movable slide provided with a number of channels, into which are introduced wires made of different metals and/or with different colours which are individually and selectively transported, with the aid of extraction means and in a fixed sequence, to a wire-guide device which is likewise provided with the same number of channels. This wire-guide device is provided with means for clamping and releasing which act selectively on each wire, so that it becomes possible for the movable slide to guide out each wire individually to the link-forming device according to a fixed sequence. The orientation of each wire according to the link-forming device takes place by means of the movable support which is transversely movable in relation to the feed direction of the said slide and to which the slide itself and also the wire-guide device are fixedly connected.
