Abstract
1. A transport and/or storage container for radioactive materials and more particularly for irradiated fuel elements from nuclear reactors, consisting of a container body which acts as a shield against gamma radiation, a neutron shield and cooling ribs on the surface of the container body which run in an aixal or radial direction, characterized in that webs (3) are arranged on the surface of the container body (1) in a transverse direction to that of the cooling ribs (2), the height of which webs is at most 2/3 the height of the cooling ribs (2) and the webs (3) are arranged at a spacing from each other which is at most 10 times the height of the webs (3).
