CONSTITUIDO POR UN JUEGO DE RECIPIENTES PATRON IDENTICOS QUE CONTIENEN TODOS ELLOS EL MISMO LIQUIDO, PRESENTANDO CADA UNO DE ELLOS UN SOLO DEFECTO ARTIFICIAL CONOCIDO, ESTABLE, REPRODUCIBLE Y CAPAZ DE ENGENDRAR UNA SEÑAL EN EL SISTEMA DE DETECCION UTILIZADO, VARIANDO LA IMPORTANCIA DEL DEFECTO DE UN RECIPIENTE A OTRO. EL LIQUIDO CONTENIDO EN LOS RECIPIENTES DE REFERENCIA ES IDENTICO AL LIQUIDO A CONTROLAR.
