CONSISTE EN PONER EN CONTACTO UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO ALIFATICO, SOLUBLE EN AGUA, CON PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO, EN PRESENCIA DE UN ACIDO BORICO, ORTO O METABORICO, COMO CATALIZADOR Y UN DISOLVENTE QUE FORMA UN HETEROAZEOTROPO CON EL AGUA, Y ELIMINAR DE MODO CONTINUO EL AGUA INTRODUCIDA CON EL PEROXIDO DE HIDROGENO Y LA FORMADA EN EL TRANSCURSO DE LA REACCION POR MEDIO DE DESTILACION AZEOTROPICA. LA DISOLUCION DE ACIDO PERCARBOXILICO TIENE APLICACIONES PARA LA OXIDACION DE COMPUESTOS ORGANICOS MUY NUMEROSOS.
