PROCEDIMIENTO PARA EL TRATAMIENTO DE AZUFRE INSOLUBLE. CONSISTE EN HACER REACCIONAR AZUFRE INSOLUBLE ESTABILIZADO CON UN ACEITE EN PRESENCIA DE YODO ELEMENTAL PARA INHIBIR EL EFECTO DESESTABILIZANTE QUE TIENE EL ACEITE SOBRE EL AZUFRE. EL YODO PUEDE AÑADIRSE AL ACEITE EN FORMA DIRECTA O DISUELTO EN UN DISOLVENTE EN CANTIDAD DE 1 A 100 GRAMOS DE YODO POR LITRO DE DISOLVENTE. SU MISION ES EVITAR UN AUMENTO EN LA VELOCIDAD DE INVERSION A AZUFRE SOLUBLE DEL AZUFRE INSOLUBLE CUANDO SE AÑADE EL ACEITE. EL AZUFRE INSOLUBLE TIENE APLICACION COMO AGENTE DE VULCANIZACION EN LA INDUSTRIA Y FABRICACION DEL CAUCHO.
