PROCEDIMIENTO PARA PREPARAR ACIDOS CARBOXILICOS AROMATICOS POR OXIDACION DE UN HIDROCARBURO ALCOHIL-AROMATICO. LA OXIDACION TIENE LUGAR EN FASE LIQUIDA EN AUSENCIA DE UN ACIDO CARBOXILICO ALIFATICO, POR MEDIO DE UN GAS QUE CONTIENE OXIGENO MOLECULAR. SE EMPLEA UN CATALIZADOR COMPUESTO DE COBALTO SOLUBLE EN LA MEZCLA DE REACCION, ESTE CATALIZADOR TAMBIEN CONTIENE UN COMPUESTO DE ZIRCONIO Y/O HAFNIO SOLUBLE EN LA MEZCLA. ESTE PROCEDIMIENTO ES ADECUADO PARA LA OXIDACION DE TOLUENO A ACIDO BENZOICO, ASI COMO PARA LA OXIDACION DE OTROS HIDROCARBUROS ALCOXI-AROMATICOS Y OTROS ACIDOS CARBOXILICOS AROMATICOS.
