Abstract

Procedimiento para purificar biológicamente líquidos acuosos, en el cual estos si es necesario después de haber sido desprovistos de componentes separables se ponen en contacto en un espacio de tratamiento con los microorganismos presentes en dicho espacio bajo el suministro de un gas que contenga oxígeno, después de lo cual los microorganismos y los productos de reacción presentes en los líquidos se separan de éstos por sedimentación, caracterizado porque se suministra un lote de líquido a tratar el espacio de tratamiento en el cual se han dejado los microorganismos de un tratamiento precedente, porque durante o después del suministro del lote de líquido el suministro de oxígeno hacia el espacio de tratamiento se conecta y, posiblemente, se desconecta de nuevo tan pronto como se ha alcanzado el grado de purificación deseado del líquido, después de lo cual éste último se pone en reposo y las sustancias suspendidas en el mismo pueden sedimentarse, porque el líquido clarificado presente por encima del sedimento extraído y porque, finalmente, los microorganismos restantes en el espacio de tratamiento se guardan en éste último bajo condiciones tales que su actividad se conserve en un grado suficiente hasta el suministro del siguiente lote de líquido, siendo adaptada la cantidad del lote almacenado a lo que se necesite para tratar el lote siguiente y se elimine el exceso de lodo.
