Abstract

Un indicador de circulación de fluido destinado para ser utilizado en una tubería de circulación de vapor y que incluye una cámara que tiene un orificio de entrada y un orificio de salida, con lo cual la cámara puede conectarse en esta tubería de circulación para servir como receptáculo para el condensado, estando dispuesto entre el orificio de entrada y el orificio de salida un solo deflector en aquella parte de la cámara donde el condensado puede acumularse y estando este deflector situado de tal manera que durante el funcionamiento, una pérdida de carga producida por la circulación del vapor a la salida de la cámara da lugar a una elevación del nivel del condensado acumulado en el lado de salida del deflector con una reducción correspondiente del nivel del condensado acumulado en el lado de entrada del deflector incluyendo además el indicador unos medios para determinar el cambio hasta un valor predeterminado de nivel del condensado producido por la pérdida de carga debida a la circulación del vapor en el orificio de salida, con lo cual puede obtenerse una indicación de la pérdida de carga, siendo este dispositivo un solo electrodo que se extiende por el interior de dicha parte de la cámara en la cual puede acumularse el condensado, estando el electrodo eléctricamente aislado a partir de una zona conductora eléctricamente expuesta al condensado acumulado y situado de tal forma que durante el funcionamiento el cambio predeterminado del nivel de condensado producido por la pérdida de carga a la salida interrumpa un circuito eléctricamente conductor a partir del electrodo por medio del condensado hasta la zona eléctricamente conductora con lo cual puede obtenerse una indicación eléctrica para indicar la circulación de vapor a través de la tubería de vapor.A fluid flow indicator intended for use in a steam circulation pipe and including a chamber having an inlet port and an outlet port whereby the chamber can be plugged into this circulation pipe to serve as a receptacle for the condensate, a single deflector being arranged between the inlet and outlet orifices in that part of the chamber where the condensate can accumulate and this deflector being located in such a way that during operation, a loss of pressure caused by the circulation of the steam at the outlet of the chamber causes a rise in the level of the accumulated condensate on the outlet side of the baffle with a corresponding reduction in the level of the accumulated condensate on the inlet side of the baffle, the indicator also including means for determining the change up to a predetermined value of the condensate level produced by the loss of pressure due to the circ ulation of the steam in the exit hole, with which an indication of the loss of charge can be obtained, this device being a single electrode that extends inside said part of the chamber in which the condensate can accumulate, the electrode electrically insulated from an electrically conductive zone exposed to accumulated condensate and located such that during operation the predetermined change in condensate level caused by loss of charge at the outlet interrupts an electrically conductive circuit from the electrode by means of of the condensate to the electrically conductive zone whereby an electrical indication can be obtained to indicate the circulation of steam through the steam pipe.
