Abstract

A spindle for either two-for-one twisting or doubling two yarns together has several guide eyes on the rotating component at different distances from the axis, each associated with a different guide channel to suit a yarn of a particular type, size or strength. The guide eyes may be arranged in two interchangeable groups, and their distance from the axis may be adjustable. By suitable selection of appropriate guide-eyes, the optimum productivity and efficiency of the unit can be maintained for a wide range of yarns.
