Abstract
Silentblocks are extracted from, and inserted into, their housings by movement, in the case of extraction, with an extractor pin 13 and, in the case of insertion, along an inserter pin 13'. In each case the pin passes through the bore in the silentblock. The extractor pin 13 is provided with clamping means 16 to secure it in position. The inserter pin 13' is provided with housing abutment means to prevent relative movement between the housing and pin and silentblock abutment means 19 to push the silent block along the pin. Both pins have threaded ends 14 for selective attachment in the bore 15 of the shaft of a piston 6 and cylinder 1 arrangement. On movement of the shaft through a limiting sleeve 2 attached to the cylinder, the end of the limiting sleeve abuts, in the case of extraction, the housing and, in the case of insertion, the silentblock abutment means to extract or insert the silentblock.
