Abstract

The present invention relates to a flat knitting machine having at least one needle cambox with an adjustable retracting cam part 18 and with a needle selecting arrangement. In order to prevent a retracting movement of non-operating, stitch-holding needles, the adjustable retracting cam part is normally held in a rest position and is coupled to an operating part 13 arranged to be acted on either by a needle selected for knitting or by a needle jack associated therewith, for initiating lowering movement of the retracting cam part from its rest position to a predetermined operating position.
