Abstract

The fire-resistant partition may be used in offices etc and has facing boards (12) on a carcass of posts extending between rails at the head and foot. The interior is filled with slabs (14, 15) of e.g. pressed mineral fibre, and all constituent members are of a fire-resistant material. The rail at the foot is adjustable for height with a 'T'-section piece (6, 8) sliding between two joists (2) which are screwed to the floor. The joists are mounted on edge seals (4) and a sole plate (5) of cast iron or steel. The bar (8) and the leg (6) of the 'T' are two separate pieces joined by tongue and grooving, and it has vertical holes (9) locating the stems (7) of screw-jack feet.
