Abstract

This invention enables us to supply artificial feed, capable of being ingested by tiny aquatic animals, and which consists of rounded granules of essentially uniform composition, which behave well when inserted in water and in which over 10 percent in weight represents a maximum dimension of less than 300 microns. The invention also includes a procedure for the preparation of a feed capable of being ingested by tiny aquatic animals, which require their diet to consist of discrete granules with a maximum dimension of less than 300 microns. The procedure entails a mass being formed from a bed turned over with essentially solid and finely separated feed ingredients, with an average particle size no greater than 150 microns, through spraying these with an aqueous solution of a dry, non-toxic polymer material made from the resulting agglomerate (if necessary) to a content with a humidity of less than 15 percent in weight, the agglomerated product subsequently being sorted physically (if necessary) to ensure that it contains more than 10 percent in weight of granules with a maximum dimension of less than 300 microns.
