Abstract
The device includes an elongated body member 22 provided with a generally V-shaped longitudinally-extending groove having an angle of about 60 DEG to 165 DEG and defining two supporting surfaces for the flexible tubing shown in chain lines. A roller 24 is mounted for movement longitudinally of the body member to define a clamping area with the supporting surfaces which decreases as the roller is moved towards the uppermost end. Preferably, the clamping area has a general V-shape in which case the roller has a generally V-shaped circumference. The apex of the 'V' is centrally located on the roller circumference and defines an angle of about 60 DEG to 180 DEG . The circumferential and side walls of the roller may be ribbed. The angle defined by the V- shaped groove may vary along the length of the groove.
