Abstract
Procedimiento para la concentración de ácido sulfúrico residual, que en caso dado puede contener sulfatos metálicos, y/o para la disociación parcial de sulfatos, especialmente heptahidrato de sulfato de hierro, bajo amplia eliminación de la formación de dióxido de azufre, a ácido sulfúrico, caracterizado por la siguiente combinación de etapas de procedimiento como concentración del ácido en varias etapas bajo deshidratación simultánea de los sulfatos disueltos y/o alimentados en intercambio térmico directo en contracorriente con gases de cracking que contienen trióxido de azufre hasta como máximo ácido azeotrópicamente compuesto en la última etapa de concentración A, traslado de la mezcla ácido-sulfato, que contiene hasta un 40% en peso de sulfatos anhidro, de la última etapa de concentración A a una etapa de evaporación B, en la que a temperaturas hasta 450ºC, que se producen con ayuda de gases de calentamiento calientes de 800 hasta 1200ºC, la mezcla se separa en sulfatos esencialmente anhidro y un gas que contiene trióxido de azufre.
