Abstract

Refinements in humidifier reservoir assemblies of the type comprising a humidification chamber having an upper portion providing a gas flow path between a gas inlet and a humidified gas outlet, an enclosure containing a float-controlled and separate valve effectively by means dividing the flow path of the gas, a reservoir located above the chamber and arranged to provide a liquid to the lower part thereof by means of the valve, which acts maintaining a practically constant level of the liquid in the camera; and means through which gas and liquid can flow between the enclosure and the gas chamber with a negligible disturbance of said gas flow path; characterized in that the gas inlet is positioned so as to discharge the gas entering the chamber downwards, in the direction of the surface of the liquid which, under operating conditions, is separated at a certain distance below the inlet and the gas outlet, the gas flow paths extending without any deflector or sharp elbow, and being flanked by opposite surfaces of the dividing means and the chamber.
