Abstract

Hydrocarbons are dehydrogenated by contact with a porous carrier contg. (a) 0.01-2 wt.% Pt-gp. metal, (b) 0.1-5 wt.% and (c) 0.01-5 wt.% soln. The ave. crystallite size of the Sn and Co is 100 mu in max. dimension. All the Pt gp. metal is present in the elemental state. All the Sn is present in an oxidn. state above the elemental metal. All the Co is present in the elemental state or in a state which is reducible to the elemental state under the dehydrogenation conditions. The catalyst has a controllable cracking function and improved conversion, selectivity and stability.
