Abstract

The wood peeling machine, esp. for bark stripping from tree trunks, cross-cuts the material into set lengths. A sheet is cut from a revolving wood cylinder (9) by a blade (7) retained by a slide (6) moving continuously towards the cylinder core. A second slide (13) move in the same direction, and a second blade (18) in parallel to the cylinder axis is mounted on it. A scanner, for determination of the periphery lengths of the cylinder, is carried on this slide, and kinematically connected to the second blade, with an interposed down gearing. The mutual relationship of the scanner and second blade is such that predetermined peripheral windings of the cylinder are matched by an inward cutting effect produced by the second blade, over a prescribed cylinder thickness.
