A process for the manufacture of essentially spherical, void-free ferrite particles, which consists of preparing a suspension of ferrite-forming metal oxides in a liquid, where said suspension has a viscosity of around 23ºC comprised between approximately 55,000 and 140,000 centipoises, dried by atomizing said suspension of metal oxides to form essentially spherical metal oxide beads and sintering said essentially spherical metal oxide beads to form ferrite particles which are essentially spherical in shape, continuous in surface and free of internal voids.
