Abstract

An exhaust brake valve unit comprising a hollow body having an end face and opposite walls defining a valve chamber therebetween which opens to said end face; aligned openings formed in said opposite walls to facilitate an exhaust gas passage through the valve chamber; a valve closure member positioned in the valve chamber so that it can move therein between a closed position that closes the exhaust passage and an open position that leaves the exhaust passage substantially unobstructed, and a plate mounted through said end face to close the valve chamber, said plate being removable whereby the valve closure member can be separated from said valve chamber through said end face.
