Abstract
Method of preparation of a highly soluble gamma globulin concentrate, suitable for intravenous administration, characterized in that it consists of performing in a normal physiological saline solution a suspension of a material selected from the group consisting of complete plasma and any of the Cohn Plasma Fractions II + III, II and III, in adjusting the pH by approximately 6.5 to 7.5, in mixing the suspension with calcium phosphate to adsorb the coagulation factors, in preparing the resulting precipitate and in subjecting the recovered floating product to a three-precipitation sequence with a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and polyoxypropylene polymer containing at least about 50% ethylene oxide in the molecule and having a hydrophobic polyoxypropylene molecular weight of at least 950, First, with a pH of approximately 4.5 and a final concentration of approximately 6.0% to 8.5% of block copolymer, it cons the resulting floating product being added for the following phase and then with a pH of 4.5 to 5.5 and a final concentration of block copolymer comprised between more than approximately 8.5% and 10%, the resulting floating product being preserved for the next phase and then with a pH of approximately 6.5 to 7.5 and a concentration of approximately 14 to 16% of block copolymer, the resulting precipitate constituting the active gamma globulin concentrate being preserved.
