Abstract

An improved process for preparing a polyalkylene terephthalate molding resin composition of markedly enhanced surface and uniformity characteristics which intimately mixes a polyalkylene terephthalate chosen from the group consisting of polybutylene terephthalate and polypropylene terephthalate having a viscous terephthalate intrinsic on the scale of from about 0.75 to about 1.5 deciliters per gram; a slow burning additive, and asbestos, wherein the improvement comprises intimately mixing at least 2 percent of said polyalkylene terephthalate based on the weight of said resin present as a sufficiently small powder that passes through a 30 mesh screen.
