Abstract

A sterile elutable radioactive material generating device, comprising a hollow column containing elutable radioactive material, said column including inlet and outlet ports which are in communication with inlet and outlet ducts respectively, said ducts terminating below perforable shutter caps, whose caps prevent the entry of contaminants through said conduits, said column being embedded, said inlet and outlet ducts and said caps in a shell intended to allow the caps to be perforated, a coupling intended to be joined to said shell, means for properly aligning said coupling in said shell to effect bonding therebetween, said coupling including means for piercing said lids, and said coupling including means for connecting an eluent container, said eluent being able to be passed through said inlet duct inside said column, and means for connecting an evacuated container to said coupling, the pressure difference between said eluent container and said evacuated container making the eluent circulate through said conduits and enter the mentioned evacuated container.
