Abstract

A method of forming a structural bond between a first and a second rigid member, said first member having at least one wing extending from one face thereof and having an outer end, said second member having at least one elongated slot which is substantially arched in cross section, provided on one face thereof, each of said grooves having opposite edges that define an elongated opening with a dimension such as to allow the entry of a wing into said groove, which comprises the operations of: arranging the end exterior of at least one wing within the elongated opening of said at least one slot; and applying a sufficient external force to at least one of said first and second elements to cause relative movement between said elements in order to reduce the distance between the opposite faces thereof and in order to deform said wing within said groove to form at least a part of a turn therein, with a width that is greater than the width of said elongated opening.
