Abstract
"Improvements in electrohydraulic servo actuators, characterized by comprising: a piston mounted on an inner wall or cylinder for axial sliding movement in opposite directions from a position centered on said actuator and collaborating with said cylinder to define two separate or independent chambers, the part of said piston that is inside one of the chambers having a smaller fluid pressure area than the part that, of said piston, is inside the other chamber, devices for supplying a fluid, continuously, to one of said chambers, servo valve mechanism in said actuator to regulate the passage of fluid to and from said other chamber, said servo valve mechanisms comprising a hollow sleeve mounted on said cylinder in the actuator for axial sliding movement in opposite directions from a centered position and having measurement orifice means therein, Said servo valve mechanisms further comprising a reel mounted on said sleeve for axial sliding movement in opposite directions from a centered position and said mechanisms having a metering hole therein, both measuring orifice mechanisms collaborate when said sleeve and reel are centered to regulate the fluid pressure in said other chamber and thus keeping said piston fixed or static, said reel being able to move in relation to said sleeve to cause said measurement holes to define an opening that effects the change in fluid pressure in said other chamber and, with this, effect movement of said piston to the desired position, and feedback mechanisms connected between the piston and said sleeve and responsive to movement of the piston to effect movement of said sleeve relative to said reel or coil to cause said orifice means to regulate fluid pressure in said other chamber for the purpose of maintaining said piston in the desired position, said feedback means comprising: A cam surface on said piston, first cam follower means slidably mounted on an inner wall of said actuator, and engageable with said cam surface on said piston, said first cam follower means having a cam surface about them, and second cam follower means on said engageable or engageable sleeve with said cam surface on said cam follower means.
